An Astrological tour of the senses at Plateau

Plateau restaurant is hosting a series of astrological dinners with speakers including the internationally acclaimed astrologer Shelly von Strunckel and the world's leading perfumier, Roja Dove.

Shelley and Roja will draw on ancient lore to describe the aromas and tastes unique to each star sign of the Zodiac. Shelley von Strunckel comments "These evenings offer a rare opportunity for diners to experience the powerful links between the star signs - their own and others' - and our subtle but intense reaction to various tastes and aromas. This knowledge has existed for millennia, but never has it been explored in such detail and in such elegant surroundings."

Bollinger Champagne and a range of wines hand picked by Head Sommelier, Michael Simms will be featured during the talk. Guest will smell the signs' scents, then link them to the specially selected wines . Accompanying this sensory tour, Head Chef at Plateau, Tim Tolley will create a five-course tasting menu to reflect the signature traits for each star sign. Aside from an evening of sensory pleasure, guests will be presented with a leaving gift of Jasper Conran perfume, kindly supplied by the Fragrance Factory.

The dinners will take place in Plateau's intimate fumoir and will be limited to 20 people per dinner. Tickets are priced at �70. Reservations can be made with Plateau on 020 7715 7100.

Description

Plateau sits in a prime 4th floor location at the top of the Canada Place building, with views across the lawns and sculptures of Canada Square Park. Plateau offers two distinct dining areas divided by a central semi-open view kitchen; a bar and grill; and a more formal main restaurant each with their own individual outside terraces; two bars, a private dining room and a cigar room. A principal feature of the space is the long glass frontage and part glazed ceiling, which swathes the rooms in reflected natural light.
